Impasto Paintings
Impasto painting is an Italian term meaning "paint as thick as paste."
In 2001, Lori Grimmett decided to increase the depth of her paintings and take Impasto paintings to the next level.
More than thick paint or a small amount of texture, she adds pain so thick that it rises off the canvas with an almost sculptural quality.
These masterpieces are a sight to behold as they combine the idea of a one-of-a-kind painting on canvas with the fascinating depth and interest of a sculpture.
These are the thickest paintings that Lori offers. With paint so thick, viewers often can't help but reach out and touch its uniqueness!

Creating an Impasto Painting
PAINTED TWICE
This unique process requires each image to be painted twice: once with the sculptural formations across the canvas, and after that cures those layers are painted to complete the masterpiece.
TIME
Please be patient; these paintings can take up to six months to create, paint, cure, paint with phosphorescence, cure again, ship, and arrive, yet their lasting effect on your heart and the amazement of your guests will live on for years to come.
Each painting is custom-made and hand-painted explicitly for you.

All Impasto fine art paintings are framed and ready to hang.
If you prefer a wrapped canvas (instead of a frame), please let me know.
Prices may change at any time and typically increase by 10% each year (on January 1st),
making your art investment more valuable over time.
