Glowography
In 2007, Lori Grimmett coined the term "Glowography," meaning "writing with glowing light." Each original piece is hand-painted and glows in the dark -- in vibrant colors -- for up to 12 hours!
These masterpieces are a sight to behold. A perfect addition to a bedroom, guestroom, or bathroom -- the glowing light show begins when the lights turn out!
Glowography artwork transitions from day to night, almost in the land of dreams;
a place where you can get lost in your imagination.
Creating a Glowography
PAINTED TWICE
This unique process requires each image to be painted twice: once with the paint colors (enjoyed during the day), and after those layers cure, the entire painting is repainted using phosphorescent paint (to absorb and release glowing light).
TIME
Please be patient; these paintings can take up to six months to create, paint, cure, paint with phosphorescence, cure again, ship, and arrive, yet their lasting effect on your heart and the amazement of your guests will live on for years to come.
Each painting is custom-made and hand-painted explicitly for you.

How Do I Charge My Glowography?
Your glowgraphy painting requires light (to absorb) before it can glow (by slowly releasing that light).
There are several ways to do this:
1. Sunlight
This is the best way to charge your painting. Two minutes in full sun (and then immediately set into a dark room) will charge your painting for up to twelve hours!
Though direct sunlight will provide the brightest charge, it's not the most convenient (since it requires the artwork to be taken off the wall, charged, and hung back up again).
2. Bright light
This method is similar to the first, except it can be done with a strong flashlight or direct room light (if it's exceptionally bright).
3. UV Light
The most common way I charge my Glowography paintings is through UV black light.
The easiest way is to shine a bright UV flashlight onto the painting. The closeness of the light and the brightness make a tremendous difference.
Not all UV black lights are created the same!
If you're using a UV blacklight that glows purple, you're probably using a 185 to 400nm wavelength. This will work better than a regular (white) flashlight to charge your painting.
But if you use a 365nm UV blacklight, you'll get to see the colors more accurately (with less purple hue), plus this spectrum of light charges your Glowography brighter and for longer (than a 185-400nm blacklight).
